ਜ਼ਰਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਲ ਦੇਖ, ਮੈਂ ਚੱਪਲ ਦੀ ਟੁੱਟੀ ਹੋਈ ਬੱਧਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਿੰਨ ਫਸਾਈ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ- ਪੋਹ ਚੜ੍ਹਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਗੱਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਇਥੇ ਸਿਰਫ ਬੂਟ ਪਾਉਣ ਹੀ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਏਨੇ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਏਨੇ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਨਿੱਗਰਤਾ ਬੂਟ ਹੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੂਟਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਇੱਕ ਅਜੀਬ ਫਲਸਫਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਡੂੰਮਣੇ ਦੀ ਮੱਖੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਚਿੰਬੜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਸ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੋਗਾ ਹੀ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਬੰਦਾ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਖੁਸ਼ਫਹਿਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬੂਟ ਤਾਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਉਸਦੀ ਮੁਢਲੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ। ਹਾਲੇ ਅਸਲੀ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੇ ਬਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲਾਉਣੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੂਝਣ ਦੀ ਉਤੇਜਨਾ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਏਨੀ ਘੱਟ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਉਹ ਬੂਟ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦੌੜ ਸਕਣ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਲ ਹੀ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੇ ਜਦ ਇਹ ਹੀ ਹੋਣੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਾ ਪਿੰਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਬੱਧਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸਿੱਧਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਕੁੱਦਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ।
