no it was not that film.....

In 1964 released a big-budget romantic Punjabi film of Padam Prakash Maheshwary titled "Satluj de Kande". This film had big stars like Balraj Sahni, Nishi, Wasti, and Mirza Musharraf and music by Hans Raj Behl. This was the only Punjabi Film by Balraj Sahni and was a super hit and it also earned a national award. "Satluj de Kande" was telecast thrice on National Channel of Door Darshan (Indian National TV channel).This movie ended the series of flops too..

@ Davu no it was not the only punjabi pic acted by Balraj Sahni "Nanak Dukhiyaa sabh sansar" was also acted by him and that also won national award.

you are right that the movie nanak dukhiya sab sansar won natinal award but for lyrics and balraj sahini acted as supporting actor....he never acted as a hero in any punjabi movie than one....

but the movie satluj de kande won national award as a best film(as i asked) and in this movie balraj sahni was the only hero. and as i asked name the after partition film....this was the first national award winning movie post partition....
