It is my experience Indians ( and Pakistanis) are ashamed of being Punjabi. Assumably not the case on this website, though I have seen many verrses in Hindi.  ( that does not mean I am anti Hindu, as Hindi is a language, whereas one can be Hindu Punjabi).

I will argue being from the west, my Punjabi can never be as good as those from Punjab. By same logic, no matter how clever you are, no one in Punjab can match my English, as I am from England. Yet when I was in Punjab ( esp Chandigarh and Ludhiana), everyone prefered to speak to me in English or Hindi. Why? When I come to Punjab, it is my chance to practise Punjabi.

Why are you so ashamed of Punjabi? Don't dare say English is economically better, because I know rich business men in West who are having their kids taught Mandarin and Cantonese, as the proud Chinese refuse to learn English. Clearly the white man will learn another language, and the Chinese are proud. SO why aren't you?

ਦੇਬੀ ਮਖਸੂਸਪੁਰੀ ਦੇ ਬੋਲ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕਰਨ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਮੁੱਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਫੀ ਨੇੜੇ ਦਾ ਸਬੰਧ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ....
