Deep, i don't agree with you on this at all.. and i know everything abt govt schools and village life.. mein ve etho he gai han... my father in law is also a govt teacher.. let me tell you a story he once told me..

he taught in one such school where students were not able to pay the fee, so the teachers of the school used to pool in some funds and pay the fee.. one day my father told his class to get Rs 10 each to watch a movie.. everybody got it and he paid their fee with that amount!  anyways we are not discussing the affordability of school fee here.

all i am trying to say is why can't the gov't use this money on existing school and try to revive them.. i mean not all schools.. for eg, they were planning to set up 1 school per vidhan sabha seat, so be that way and give all the modern day facilities there... why do they need new land and wen they are controling imp functionalities, why are they involving private players?

they should manage the exisiting resources rather than throwing away on the already depriving economy of punjab..

and one more thing.. some of the ppl who send their kids to convent schools do it for their status too.. so we just can't blame affordability... they can easily pay off the school fee and the tutuions as well..

that is exactly what i am trying to say.. if the govt is already in debt for the existing schools.. why are they shedding crores in making new ones if they have to pay 70% of their running cost and much more... can't they make the existing schools better...

i know abt computer labs at govt schools.. and it is too little too late... i started learning computers in 1995... and its not that Badals are in power for the first time that you can say previously they couldn't make these changes in education.. their education minister until recently were uneducated..

Existing schools nu kuch karna kar k adarsh schools ch nahi convert kita ja sakda. its not Badals and Captains m talking of Government before badal there was captain then also schools were running very good condition and now also. Its all the image that right now u are considering not the ... newayz i explained much and still i stand with govt in matter of Education.

they can provide facilities there like private schools.. that is not a big issue when you can spend that amount of money.....

cant they employ more staff to organize the schools instead of handing it over to the private companies..

and keep the fee ... which can be affordable by all......

if you can provide the facilities and education system like private school.. why will the children of landlords go to the cities .... 

we know the govt schools teachers are very well qualified.. we just need that infrastructure and the modern approach that private schools adopt... 

thats the govt's responsibility to deploy all these things properly......

Deep, its just a discussion and that is what we are trying to understand here.. maybe you can clear things out a bit here by telling us ur end of the story that why govt can't rescue(a few) existing govt schools?

i agree with you Amrinder on giving justice to one's role in system... and i believe its one of top down approaches i mentioned in "Fight Corruption" topic. Pppl should be liable to state for what ever job they are doing for the govt. and its govt's duty to enforce these laws...
